Von den bis zu 3500m hohen Straßen am Vulkan geht’s zwar nur auf rund 1800m hinunter, trotzdem herrscht hier eine immense trockene Luft – man fährt quasi gegen einen Föhn. Dazwischen noch schnell im Knusperhäuschen übernachtet und jetzt quer durch’s Land wieder Richtung Küste. Gut dass es so Oasen wie Charly’s Restaurant gibt, Schweizer Gastfreundschaft, nette Zimmer, gutes Brot, guter Käse und eine Werkstatt.

From the heights of the volcano my way leads down to about 1800m and there the air is superdry – like driving against a giant hairdryer. In between I found Gingerbread House for the night and now i’m going through the country towards the coast. Very happy to find such oases like Charly’s Restaurant: Friendly swiss mentality, nice rooms, good bread, good cheese and a workshop.
