So, da bin ich wieder. Die letzten Tage voller Ruinenstätten führte durch eine der am dünnsten besiedelten Gegenden der Yucatan Halbinsel, deswegen lange Distanzen und recht schlechtes Internet. Diese Kombination hat ein Posten unmöglich gemacht, hier (mittlerweile in Bacalar, wie am Gps Track ersichtlich) mit recht gutem Internet habe ich jetzt eine Stunde damit verbracht die Bilder dieses Beitrags raufzuladen – dafür in gewohnter Vollauflösung 😉
Uxmal ist schon recht imposant, wobei mir ein wenig das Dschungelfeeling fehlt – ist aber eigentlich authentischer, da die Maya den selbigen ja großflächig gerodet haben…
Wie auch immer, imposante Palastanlagen und Tempel, teilweise mit außerordentlich gut erhaltenen Fassaden und Figuren. Auch den Leguanen gefällt es sichtlich im historischen Ambiente, mehr werde ich nur in Edzna zu sehen bekommen, dazu aber beim nächsten mal.

Back again! Well, the last days were full of long distances and bad internet which in combination made posting stuff impossible. Even right now (meanwhile in Bacalar, check out the gps track) with quite good wifi the pictures in this post took an hour to upload – but hey, full resolution 😉
Uxmal is quite impressive, i just miss the ‚jungle feeling‘ a bit – but actually this is more realistic, as the maya used to clear the forest.
However, impressive palaces and temples with some really nice facades and figures. Even the Iguanas love the historic environment, more of them i will see in Edzna but this is another story/post.
